HE LOVES HIS WORK
Timmy Donahue, of north of town, has returned to Saint Ambrose College in Davenport, after his well earned Easter vacation. Timmy is finishing his third year at the big institution and his love for his work increases
as the years roll on.—Williamsburg Journal-Tribune.
The Poulterer was poultering on a sunny summer day;
And the Fruiterer was fruitering his fruit;
The Pewterer went pewtering along his merry way;
And the Tinker was a-tinkering on his lute.

We understand that the farmers in a western portion of the state are
promoting agriculture by having all of the stumps sharpened so that none
of the hired men can sit down.
George: "Ed and I know everything in the world."
Ray: "All right, where is Bogota?"
George: "0, that is one of the things Ed knows."
Rex: "I have been expecting a packet of medicine, by mail, for a week
and haven't received it yet."
P. 0. Clerk: "Yes, sir, just fill in this blank and state the nature of
your complaint."
Rex: "Well, if you must know, it's indigestion."
THE GLADIATORS
There was a tumult in the basement,
Of our college of renown,
And the stairs was rife with Aggies,
Rushing madly up and down
Aggies jammed against the lockers
Where they watched with bated breath
Eddie Lipke and Paul Lessin
Fighting madly to the death.
Long they fought there, rolling over
We could tell by their loud yell
That the thoughts of each combatant
Wished the other were in well.
At last, the storm was lifted,
Look! There's Lipke on the top,
He has Paulus in his power
And he takes him for a mop.
Slowly then their legs untwisted,
Stiffly rose they from the floor,
