Junior Football
Hand, Bouquot, O'Donnell, McLain,
Murphy, Glanz, McCarville, Cusack, Schoenfelder, Woeber,
Norton, Hauar, Nhare, Gimble, Nieters, Skelley, Reese.
The Juniors opened their 1917 season with the fast Lyons High School
team and defeated them so badly that they cancelled their return game,
which was to be played on the Lyons grounds. Juniors 58; Lyons 0.
The heavy Washington High School team got to going in the last quarter and with luck playing into their hands, ran up a score of 32 points. For
three quarters the two elevens battled on almost even terms, with the advantage, if any, going to the Juniors. Clever passing by McLain to Hand
and Norton failed to score.
The following Saturday the Juniors spent in a very pleasant way by
trimming Sterling High School to the tune of 76 to 0, which goes to show
