dere Bro. Joe:
Havin got uour letter about 2 monts ago,
i thot i wood anser rite away, being as pa
sold them there hawgs and was dividen up
the money, and me think i will sind U $2,
but dont go spendin it all on thim there
smoks, yer Ma dont take no fancy to thim
and besides its wastin time and money and
spoilin yer ies so that yer haf ter ware
glasses. Ye no thim things cost money
and yer haf to pay the doc to.
We air all well except Simon, Adolph,
Bridget, mirandy Eda & me have got the
mumps and we had ter stay in bed wile
the rest did the chores. They was draggin
the rodes laste weke and they air in some
fine shape, now tawk erbout yer st. ara-
brose bullyard, it aint in it et awl yer
woodent no em if yer scene em now. bro.
Bennie got kiked by a colt but he didnt
wont to tel wat he was limin for til Pa
maid him tel.
Our nabor si. Simpson gave a surpries
party and invited all the folks along the
rode. Ma sade old Nancy Hicks was the
first 1 there. They sure had a gud time
playin Authors and tellin stories, and wat
do you think, they never left til 9 p. m.
Pa started ter chewin horse shoe, sade
he didnt like star any mor, it was 2 dri.
he maid a trip ter town with the butter
and aigs and brot back a bach of yung
chickens that lem Samuels hached out in
that patent hacher of hisn. Thats some
machine hes got, all you haf ter do is turn
on the gas hes got the patent gas from the
sity an lite it and thats all, except luk
eround a cuple times wen there hachin
and help sum of the chickens out of the
shells. Our dawg barks wen sumbody
cums every time. Maggie was down to the
dance t'other nite and saw yurn and bills
frends lukin fine as ever, ye dont haf ter
take my word thats wot she sade, so its no
use doubtin it she nose.
Well i must close and hope that yu be
well, foks send there best regards to yu
& bill, i think id better close as there aint
no more nuse to rite and we dont get no
papers, i'm better since i have finished
this letter as it was a long job to rite.
