RUNNING THE AMBROSIAN.
"Where's the chief of this annual?"
"He is down town on business for
the annual."
"Where is his assistant?"
He has class now, and after that
he has work to do in the pressing
room and can not be bothered."
"Where is the business manager?"
"Well, he is supposed to be down
town on business, but if the truth
was known, you will find him at the
Columbia."
"Where could you find the humorous editor?"
"He is no doubt over looking after
his charges."
"Who runs the annual?"
"The Faculty."
A GRAND HINT.
If you want a policeman and can
not find one, just give the St. Ambrose yell.
Prof.: "I want you fellows to
take notes. Listen with one ear and
write with the other."
Russell: "Down in our country
we give old chickens alcohol to drink
oefore we kill them."
Ligutti: "What's that for?"
Russell: "To make them tender.
They're half stewed before we cook
them."
Prof.: "I will proceed to examine
and, if possible, elaborate the ideas
of Mr. Welsh. The outlook is not at
all promising, but we may be able to
find something in what he said."

stories."
Father H., in Rhetoric: Sometimes it is advisable to use long sentences, but they should not be too
long. Mr. Murphy, what do you consider a long sentence?
F. Murphy (in a low voice): Life
imprisonment!
Father H.: You'll get you sentence at four o'clock.
