Description
Western Illinois of Macomb, Illinois, was next on the schedule, and they showed us why they are
annually chosen to represent their region in the N.A.I.A. playoffs, by downing the Bees, 105-66.
The Bees entertained St. Thomas of Minnesota at home and after leading throughout the game, the
"Tommies" forged ahead with but a few minutes to go ahead and capture an 85-78 decision.
Great Lakes Navy was the first trip of the season. But the Sailors were anything but congenial to their
guests. Led by Frank Ehmann, Great Lakes went ahead on a last minute basket which gave them the
game 74-73. Kevin Fennelly led all scorers with 26 points.
Next in line was the Quincy Holiday Tournament. The first opponent for the Bees was the eventual tournament winner, Eastern Illinois. The Bees last half rally faded and Eastern went on to win 86-70. Kevin
Two Great Lakes players compete with Dick Brennan for the ball.
Tom Otting (35) and John Leonard (24) look on.
