OMAHA 21
Shadows of defeat covered the Bees
with a stunning loss at the hands of
Omaha in the annual homecoming
tilt . . . knocking them from the ranks
of the undefeated.
The Bees drew first blood when
two passes from Bob Webb to Clint
Westemeyer covered 80 yards and a
touchdown . . . giving the Bees a 7-0
half-time lead. Early in the third period the Bees fumbled and halfback
I Rigatuso scored for Omaha ... a few
minutes later All-American Bill Engel-
hart hit end Dick Cotton for the second Omaha score. A short time later
Rigatuso scampered for his second
touchdown to ice the game for Omaha.
A late fourth-quarter drive by the
I Bees fell short when Omaha picked
off an attempted lateral.
Although the score appears onesided, the Bees were in the game all
the way.

LA CROSSE 6
In the closest game of the year,
the Bees recovered from their first loss
with a win over the very tough La
Crosse eleven. The game was played
in a mire of mud, limiting both offensive machines to a series of short
drives and a 0-0 halftime deadlock.
Mid-way in the third period, La Crosse
drove for the first score of the game
a 6-0 lead.
With four minutes remaining in the
game, George Rauzi crashed the La
Crosse line to block a punt . . . Ambrose took over on the La Crosse 35.
On the next play from scrimmage,
Webb hit Brookhart in the end zone
for the tying score . . . Rauzi again
starred by booting the extra point . . .
giving Ambrose the lead and the ball
game.
Jack Brookhart (20) eludes LaCrosse attackers as Clint Westemeyer (83) watches.
