Rich Brennan scores with a solid right!
Following the fine showing against Western Illinois, the Bees met their
upriver rival — Loras. A consistant first half lead by the Bees seemed to
indicate another victory in the long skein of Ambrosian cage victories over
their arch rival. However, a revived Loras quintet took immediate command
with the beginning of the second period and overtook the fighting Bees. Perhaps the outstanding player of the evening was Bob Kennedy, who did an outstanding job of leading his team as floor general. Rockhurst College from
Kansas City visited the Ambrosian Court and left victorious. With Bernie
Brennan leading the attack, the Bees margin was from five to ten points
throughout the first half. The third quarter was a nip and tuck battle, as
Rockhurst slowly closed the gap. Without the rebounding of Rich Brennan,
lost via the foul route, the Bees slowly lost ground and finally were defeated,
72-59.
