OFFICERS OF THE CLUB

The Commerce Club in furthering the interests of commerce, economics, and accounting students obtained some of the Quad-
Cities outstanding speakers for their meetings
this year. A credit manager of a national concern discussed the opportunities in the credit
field, a well known economist told of the
economic problems of these times, and a
renowned traffic commissioner narrated the
vast potentialities in traffic work and rate
setting. With these men forming the nucleus
of the meetings, movies, many of the films in
technicolor, then supplemented the topics.
The later portion of the spring semester
was devoted to career talks with the club
striving to obtain speakers in many of the
fields which graduates will be seeking employment in, with the hope that the speakers will
give the students a little preview of what to
expect when they receive their degrees.
The Club had its annual membership drive in
the fall and the results were pleasing to all —
64 paid members. The revenue derived from
the dues was used to obtain speakers and to
defray the cost of the movies.
THE PUTNAM BUILDING, DAVENPORT, IOWA
The officers and moderator for the year,
elected the previous spring, are Edward Frick,
President; John Wargo, Vice-President; Dale
Walker, Secretary; Edward Harmon, Treasurer;
and Ronan MacDonald, M.A. Moderator.
