Bernie Gilhooly, Jim Delaney, Bernard Bush, and Dick Dwyer.
The Central Illinois Club was organized In the fall of 1948, and since that time each of
its aims and activities has been a huge success.
The general aim of the Central Illinois Club is one of strengthening the students and
alumni, the idea of encouraging new students to attend St. Ambrose College, and
the promoting of campus activities.
Students from the central part of the State of Illinois form the membership in the
club. Those who do not live in this area but live outside the Chicago or Tri-City
area may petition for membership in the club. The club is governed by an executive council, composed of officers, committees, chairmen, with a constitution which
serves as a basis for procedure.

The club's main social functions Qre three-fold — a Christmas dance, a summer dance, and a picnic held late in the
spring.
The Christmas dance is the outstanding event of the year.
Students from all over the state of Illinois gather in Peoria
for an evening of fun and entertainment. The summer dance
is also held in Peoria a week or two after school lets out.
This dance serves as a farewell to those students graduating. The picnic is held at Credit Island just before school
lets out and is a gala affair.
