THE
EDUCATION CLUB
The Education Club was organized in 1949 by the students at St.
Ambrose who were taking courses in Education and who planned to
make teaching their profession. The preamble of the club's constitution tells clearly and concisely the objectives of the club:
"The purpose of this organization shall be to enhance the opportunities of Education students of St. Ambrose College to
grow professionally, to gain an appreciation of the prloblems
and responsibilities peculiar to teaching, and to develop
those social traits and interests which underlie effective cooperation among members of the teaching profession."
The club is a member of the Iowa Future Teachers Association
and each year sends delegates to the regional meetings and to the
State Delegates Council meeting in Des Moines. During the course
of the year the club was able to secure an office on both the regional
and the state level.
