Description
The Ambrosian
TENTH ANNIVERSARY
One wintry day, in the year 1913, a group of "live
wires" were gathered together in their "smoke-filled"
haunt discussing the latest tidbits of college life. 'Midst
anvil chorus the conversation turned to the subject of
memories and fancies of bygone college days and college
chums. Someone dropped the idea that these memories
be compiled in a yearbook. The idea spread like wild
fire. With a snap and a determination, distinctive of
heroic days, a staff was formed and launched "The First
Ambrosian". The following served as the crew:
Editor-in-Chief . . . . Cletus J Portel
Assistant Editor . . . . William J. Hynes
Business Manager . . . . Arthur J. Fitzpatrick
Literary Editor . . . . Henry Crimmins
Athletic Editor . . . . Thomas V. Lawlor
Humorous Editor . . . . James J. Welsh
Art . . . . Marvin Herrington
Alumni . . . . David D. Klise
Ambition and optimism filled the hearts of that Staff
and though at times the billows surged high, threatening
to engulf their fond hope, yet an undaunted spirit brought
the good ship, "The Ambrosian of 1913", to a safe port.
N. B.—The Editor wishes to remind you hereby that
this is the Amrrosian's tenth birthday. It is no longer
the one-mast schooner of pioneer days; continued interest
and good will keep it a "Homeric".
