The Education Club
This club, which was organized in 1949 by the
students, has as its purpose the broadening of the
opportunities of the Education students of Saint
Ambrose in order that they might grow professionally, gain an appreciation of the problems and
responsibilities of teaching, and develop those social traits and interests which underlie effective
cooperation among members of the teaching profession.
The club meets at 6:00 p. m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The regular business session of the meeting is followed by group discussion
of problems pertinent to teaching and education.
During the year, persons from these professions
speak to the group.
Our officers this year are Vincent Green '53,
President; Penning Beiser '53, Vice-President; Don
Paulson '53, Secretary-Treasurer. Our capable advisor is Father McMahon.
This year we sent a delegate to the Delegate
Council Meeting in Des Moines during February.
At this meeting our President, Vincent Green, was
elected President of the Iowa Future Teachers Association. He was also sent as a delegate to the
National Future Teachers Delegate Council Meeting held at Ypsilanti, Michigan under the sponsorship of the National Education Association.
