The Ottumwa Club
The Ottumwa Club was organized in 1948. Its members are largely from
Ottumwa, Iowa and the smaller surrounding towns: Sigourney, Melcher, Harper,
Washington, and a few others. The purpose of this club is to promote fellowship
among the members and to promote Saint Ambrose College in the Ottumwa Deanery.
One of the principal activities of the club is the Ottumwa Club Library, in which
the students place their used books each year for use by Ottumwa students in coming
years. Also each year the club sponsors a Holiday Dance, several picnics, and a
float in the Homecoming Parade.
In the process of promoting Saint Ambrose, the club sponsors a letter writing
campaign to the senior high schools in the Deanery.
Our officers this year were: Jerry McCright, '55; Ernie Wehr, '55 and Ed Wilk-
enson, '54.
