MINOR
Since its inception in 1882 St. Ambrose
has been dedicated to the task of preparing
young men for the diocesan priesthood. In
fact that was the original purpose in founding
St. Ambrose. It has only been the passage of
years and the growth of a lay student body
which have obscured a small but active group
of young men studying for the priesthood.
Today there are 85 aspirants preparing for
a vocation. The Davenport and Nashville dioceses have the greatest number of representatives. Davenport diocese has 25 men in the
church department, and the Nashville, Tennessee, diocese sends 32 men to St. Ambrose.
Peoria, Illinois, is next, sending a total of 21,
