In 1873-1874 a brick two story, four room school was built in Garnavillo, Iowa. This building was in use from 1873-1922. The school was located on block 7 Lot 5 in Garnavillo. In October 1917, electric lights were put in the Brick School.

Garnavillo Public "Brick" School 1874-1922. To the right of the school in the background, you can see the spire of St. Peter's Church. There are students outside of the building but also in the upstairs windows of the building.
