This is apublic notice in the Orient Independent newspaper
concerning an upcoming auction of spotted Poland China pigs at the E.J. Higgins Sale Pavilion in Orient, Iowa.
This is the back and front of a leather postcard from 1906.
The golden age of postcards was from 1907-1930.
The telephone replaced the postcard as a way to keep in touch and thus was the end of the 'GOLDEN AGE' of post cards
The time was 1915 and a young man, Rube Eatinger was making a call at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Orient. The man in the center was J.F. Kingery, cashier and Ross Coffman, right, was bookkeeper.
