Randy Matson won the Drake Relays Shot Put in 1965 (63-11 1/4), 1966 (65-3 3/4), and 1967 (68 8 1/2). He also won a 1964 Olympic silver, a 1968 Olympic gold, and a 1967 Sullivan Award.
Chuck Hoyt is inducted into the Drake Relays Hall of Fame. Hoyt was a sprinter who ran in the Relays from 1913-1917 for Greenfield High School and Grinnell College. His specialty was the 220 Yard Dash. Relays Queen Jan Stewart is in the background.
