Description

In Des Moines, Iowa, a new idea has been projected and carried into effect
during last year. In August, 1915, at a banquet held in the Capitol city, the
organization of a branch society of the St. Amborse College Alumni Association
was completed. Our Reverend President Wm. L. Hannon was present as guest
of honor, and in a few earnest remarks expressed his deep pleasure at the loyal
spirit manifested by the members of the alumni of that city. This society is
now perfectly organized and, under a recently formed constitution and by-laws,
now holds regular monthly meetings. In affecting their commendable purpose of
promoting the interest of their Alma Mater, they, at the same time, are cultivating, by their frequent meetings, a permanent good fellowship, which in itself is an
object worthy of effort. Now that the Des Moines boys have originated this
excellent plan, perhaps other cities, where an appreciable number of alumni reside,
will adopt the idea, and then happily we will hear of the formation of many branch
associations.
