Fr. Takkenburg: "I want five
good looking men to come with me
to the roof and help me build my
station. Who will volunteer?
Here they are: Hank, Kleffman,
Shields, Kidney, Potter.
Prof.: "If I give you a glass of
water containing a million germs,
would they be in your system?"
Kautz: "Not yet."
Hynes: "What was the hardest
work you ever did?"
Klise: "Trying to get 'Goat' to
pay a pie he owed me."
Prefect (catching Tiz in Rump's
room): Is this your room, Mr. Frazier?
Tiz: No, Father; it belongs to the
college!
Dowd: Did you see "The Lion
and the Mouse," when you were in
Chicago?
Kidney: My heavens, no; I don't
care for those animal shows.
Visitor: So this is the refrectory;
where do you eat?
Dave: At the Newport.
Roling: I hear they had a Faculty
meeting last night.
Neuzil: What for?
Roling: They expelled the Lights
for going out at night.
Prof.: "Spell Ziggy!"
Kelly: "S-i-m-o-n-s!"
Liz: What brand of tobacco do
you like best?
Dave: Anybody's.
A little push will generally last
longer than a pull.
Tub: Do you want a general or a
scientific answer?
Prof.: Any kind will do.
Tub: I don't believe I know.
Zoology Prof.: What is a ground
hog?
Schmidt: Sausage!
Prof.: What is the essence of a
grasshopper?
Beecher: Grass, I suppose!
Prof, in Rhetoric: What does argumentation lead to?
Rump: Fights.
Wehr: "Don't copy my Latin; I
translated it all myself today."
Rosy: "Gee, you ought to see the
ridiculous part I am to take in the
Play."
Roling: "Just the part for you.
Everybody works in our school,
But Morrin don't work at all;
Just hangs around and fools with
Borbeck—that's all.
Prof.: "What constitutes beauty?"
Welsh: "Unity amid confusion."
Prof.: "Well, give an example."
Welsh: "Kerrigan umpiring a basket ball game."
Prof.: "Give me an example of
harmony!"
Thoman: "Kerrigan, Russell and
Ligutti all arguing at the same time."
