In Constant Motion
Youth is normally in motion.
Youthful St. Ambrose College (83
years young) after much preparation was again ready for its family.
North, South, East and West, by
train, plane, bus and automobile,
the students returned bringing the
class of 1968 with them. A new presi-

dent, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Menke; a
new dean, Rev. R. Schmitz; and a
new rector of East Hall, Rev. E.
Keefe received the family with the
assistance of the Student Council
and the NFCCS.
Statistics showed 80 faculty members, 135 seniors, 218 juniors, 256
sophomores and 394 freshmen.
Mr. and Mrs. McShane and Mr. McGuire
return to attend the tea for Parents in the
Union.
Friday 18 September
First faculty meeting. New members were: Rev. Ronald Schmitz,
Dean of Men; Rev. Edward Keefe,
Instructor in Physics, Rector of East-
Hall; Rev. Anthony Farrell, Instructor in Latin and Greek; Dr. Bertrand
Miller, Professor of Physics; Mr.
Gerald Hamel, Instructor in Economics and Business Administration;
Dr. John Westburg, Assistant Professor of English; Mr. Joseph McCaffrey, Instructor in Philosophy;
Mr. Charles Vorderberg, Instructor in Speech and Drama; and Mr.
Ronald Maertens, Instructor in Education. Faculty meetings scheduled for 11 a.m. each second Thursday. An informal coffee followed the
formal meeting.
Paul Lawler shows brother Tom, a freshman, and their parents around the Campus.
The athletic field and the parking lots beyond East Hall are indicated.
