Evening and outdoor ensembles with fitted bodices and large hoop skirts. The 3 evening dresses all have wide, low necklines edged with lace; short sleeves, pointed waistlines, and gloves. The center woman has a long sleeved, fitted jacket that matches the top layer of her double-layered skirt and a lace and ribbon trimmed bonnet. The left woman's dress has a square neckline with a ribbon trimmed, pleated lace fichu; long sleeves with ribbon trim and white undersleeves; a belt, and a layered skirt. The women have their hair softly pulled back or rolled into chignons or curls and trimmed with ribbons, lace, or flowers. The dresses are all heavily decorated with tassels, piping, ribbons, rickrack, flowers, ruffles, lace, buttons, or bows. The little girl is wearing a simple, ribbon trimmed dress and a ribbon headband. (published for Godey's Fashions by Kimmel, New York)
