The Bee cagers opened their tough schedule by travelling to North Dakota State and St. Mary's. These
first two games found the Bees having difficulty with effective ball handling. After being beaten by the
strong North Dakota team, 63-58, they immediately left for the game with St. Mary's. The Bees displayed
their court strength, fighting St. Mary's all the way to the final gun before losing 76-75. A two-day rest
found the Bees on the road again, this time headed for the always tough Lewis Flyers. Even the high
scoring of Big Bernie Brennan and Tom Otting was not enough as the Bees fell, 84-64.
