ST. AMBROSE 47
LEWIS 6
The St. Ambrose College Bees, playing
before the largest crowd in recent years,
turned what experts predicted as a close
game into a rout, and soundly trounced
the Flyers, 47-6. In the first half, a stubborn Bee defensive unit allowed the Flyers
only 6 yards rushing and a minus 4 yards
passing. Meanwhile, a fierce Bee offensive
machine was gradually gaining momentum
and after the first touchdown there was
no slowing them down. The combination
of hard running backs and pin point passing accounted for the Bees' highest score
of the season. Coach L. G. Friedrichs displayed the bench strength of the Bees as
he substituted freely throughout the
contest.
