Led by an array of All-
Americans such as Dick Fitzgerald, Notre Dame; Bob Gon-
gola, Illinois; Ron Drzewiecki,
Marquette, and Dick Brubaker,
Ohio State, the Sailors proved
the value of their experience.
Great Lakes, taking advantage
of early Bee mistakes, jumped
off to an early 20-0 half-time
lead. The Bees quickly recovered, pitching for three quick
touchdowns, only to have the
I Blue Jackets counter for two
more tallys. Joe DeSoto
sparked this second half rally,
scoring two of the Ambrosian
touchdowns on crowd - thrilling
pass receptions. The Bees
learned much from the Ail-
American experience of the
Great Lakes Sailors.

LACROSSE 6
St. Ambrose spotted LaCrosse
State a 6-0 lead, then bounced
back with three touchdowns in
the second quarter and two in
the third for a 33-6 victory.
Dick Allison's four yard run
scored the first touchdown. LaCrosse fumbled the ensuing
kickoff, St. Ambrose recovering
and immediately scoring on a
27 yard pass to Tom Nestor. In
the half's closing minutes, Joe
DeSoto stole a pass and raced
78 yards for the third counter.
Bert Westemeyer recovered a
LaCrosse fumble to set up Dick
Allison's scoring thrust for the
final tally of the game.
