Description
The Pre-Legal Club
The Pre-Legal Club was organized for the benefit
of those students who intend to enter a law school
after they have completed their work at St. Ambrose.
The club is open to any student considering the legal
profession, regardless of his major field; however the
majority of its members come from the Political Science
and History departments.
The club maintains a library of law school bulletins,
from the nation's leading schools, at the registrar's
desk in the Business Office. It also makes known to
students the existence of law school scholarships and
other financial aids that are available to the graduates
of St. Ambrose.
The meetings may take the form of a general business meeting with all the club's members. They may
also include a lecture by a prominent judge, attorney
or legislator or the dean of a law school. Meetings
may also take the form of a panel discussion, by the
members, of some contemporary law, legal problem,
or legal technique.
Standing: John MacKenzie, Glenn Scott, Robert Hawkins, Patrick Cleary, Gerald Murphy, Fred Lorenz, Ed Gauna, Jack Rittenhouse, John
Houtcbens, Richard Moseley, and Jack Ward. Seated: Bernard Kean, Secretary; Mitch Ware, Vice-president and Treasurer; Howard Sladek,
President; Dr. Matthew McMahon, Advisor.
