MYSTERY REMAINS

Pieper and Rump are Determined
June—On a certain balmy evening of last February Pieper and
Rump, the hall-room boys, hied
themselves to their room as was
their custom. Arriving at the
door of their palatial palace they
enacted their usual role, arguing
which one should unlock the
aforesaid door. Alphonse and
Gaston, in point of politeness,
had nothing on this Burlington
duo. Each one insisted that the
other should have the honor of
opening the door.
The story is told that on this
particular occasion Pieper drew
the honor. He boldly produced
his key, and. without a tremor,
threw back the latch. As he was
about to step over the threshold
he was met by the odor of unpleasant fumes. He had not completed that one step when he fell,
completely overcome. Rump immediately dragged the limp form
outside and suspended him on the
clothesline to recover. Rump
then ran back to the room, which
by that time had lost some of its
deadly odors. His first thought
was of socks, but, after a thorough investigation, he found that
he was mistaken. Up to the present time no clues have been
found. [The editors have learned
that the Arpas had a meeting
that night.]
SPINNING CLUB MEETS
The Spinning Club met with
the proprietors of "Siberia"
last Wednesday evening. No,
this is not similar to the spinning
bees of old, but is very much different. In United States it is
called "Put and Take".
STAR GAZING
Spend Evening in Study
of the Heavens?
One wonderful evening during
the month of September two
members of the Frat House decided to take advantage, so they
said, of the wonderful display in
the heavens, and do a little research work. Therefore thev de-
parted from their room and spent
about four hours (gazing at heavenly objects). Upon their return
the first thing that caught their
eyes was a slip of paper on which
was written '' Report to me in the
morning", and a professor's signature graced the bottom of the
note.
The writer of this little article
was later told that the summons
to report was a fake; the two
boys were "bamboozled"; in
short they '' fell''. However it
was arranged by the "Anglers"
that the "fish" were not to know
of the joke until the Ambrosian
appeared.
The "astronomers" won the
hoss laugh.
FIND ANCIENT FELINE
(From Page 1)
in these days of litigation, the
odorous smell was tracked to the
cellar. It was found that an
aged and decrepit member of the
feline genus had chosen the
above mentioned cellar for its
last, final, and only resting place,
and there it had rested until the
other members of the establishment were wholly unable to rest.
The highly efficient janitor of the
institution valorously removed
the offending animal and where
the smell was. fresh air now is.
HOLD CONVENTION
Representatives of Dill-Pickle
Association Meet
(Frat.)-The second annual
convention of the Dill Pickle Association was held at the Frat
Auditorium on September 28,
1921.
Most of the day was spent in
going over many of the impor-
tant papers such as the Democrat,
the Tribune, and the Register.
At 12:30 P. M. a short recess was
called. At this hour our staff
photographer was so fortunate as
to obtain a group picture of this
most august assembly.
Officers were elected as follows: Big Dill, G. Watters; Little Dill, J. Heffron; Slim Dill,
Dizzy Dugan Fitzpatrick.
