LIKE ART myself and

READ THE funny

PAPERS every

SUNDAY BUT when I

ASKED FATHER Hannon he

LAUGHED JUST like

IT WAS a joke or
* * *
SOMETHING AND shut the
* * *
DOOR WHICH hit my
* * *
NOSE AND chin
* * *
SIMULTANEOUSLY and
* * *
WHILE I stood there
* * *
LOOKING AT all pretty
* * *
RED AND green
* * *
STARS I heard someone
* * *
SINGING WHICH
* * *
SOUNDED LIKE the
* * *
ANGELS AND I knew
* * *
THEN I WAS a goner
* * *
SURE BUT just
* * *
THEN THE last green
* * *
STAR GAVE a couple of
* * *
DIZZY WHIRLS and went
* * *
OUT AND I came
* * *
TO BUT I could still
* * *
HEAR THE angels
* * *
SINGING AND I wondered
* * *
WHAT COULD BE the
MATTER AND so I

LISTENED AND suddenly
the

TRUTH CAME to me like
* * *
A FLASH. It wasn't any
* * *
ANGELS AT ALL but only
the
* * *
CHOIR PRACTICING and I
* * *
FELT FOOLISH for a
* * *
MOMENT BECAUSE I had
* * *
BEEN DECEIVED SO
* * *
EASILY BUT yet when I
* * *
COME TO THINK of
* * *
IT I WASN'T so far
* * *
OFF AT that because the
* * *
CHOIR WAS—was—
* * *
(SAY YOUNG fellow! Look
* * *
ME UP A good super-
* * *
LATIVE WILL YOU?) Well
* * *
ANYWAY—THE choir was
* * *
REAL GOOD this year in
* * *
FACT BETTER than
* * *
EVER AND although they
* * *
DIDN'T SING like
* * *
ANGELS AT least they
* * *
DIDN'T GO to the other
* * *
EXTREME AND besides
* * *
THEY HAD Father Morrin
* * *
DIRECTING THEM which
* * *
ACCOUNTS FOR a big
* * *
SHARE OF their
* * *
SUCCESS because Father
* * *
MORRIN IS a capable
* * *
MUSICIAN AND has had
* * *
LOTS OF experience in
* * *
CHOIR WORK and besides he
* * *
LIKES TO work with
BOYS AND understands
* * *
THEM. I guess that's
* * *
WHY ALL THE fellows like
* * *
HIM SO MUCH but anyway
* * *
THE CHOIR HAS done some
* * *
BIG THINGS during the last
* * *
YEAR AND I guess there
* * *
MUST BE A reason for
* **
IT. THE choir is the
* * *
BUSIEST ORGANIZATION
at
* * *
THE COLLEGE and their
* * *
WORK KEEPS them on their
* * *
TOES ALL THE time. On
* * *
SUNDAY IT is High
* * *
MASS IN THE morning and
* * *
BENEDICTION IN the
* * *
AFTERNOON. Then during
* * *
LENT THE Stations of the
* * *
CROSS. MAY Devotions
* * *
MEANS HYMNS and lots of
* * *
THEM AND every First
* * *
FRIDAY—MORE hymns.
Then
* * *
DURING THE year there may
* * *
BE ONE OR two Requiem
* * *
MASSES AND for these and
* * *
ALL THE OTHER occasions
the
* * *
CHOIR MUST SING. The
very
* * *
FACT THAT they have done
* * *
ALL THIS ENTITLES them
to
* * *
A BUNCH OF the best
* * *
POSIES IN town but that
* * *
THEY HAVE not only done
* * *
IT BUT DONE it well puts
