Description
Huns, Pygmies, Globes, Dominate IM Sports
Coach Scheck relaxes over a cup of coffee.
The intramural sports program at
St. Ambrose College offers a complete program of activities which
can fit the interests of all students.
Almost all of the students take part
in the sports offered. Ranging from
football to the newly organized
wrestling, there is some kind of
competition for almost any student
who is athletically inclined. The
program gets into full swing early
in September with football and continues at full speed until softball
winds things up in the spring just
before exams.
The competition is always keen
and trophies are awarded to the
winners.
With so many students competing
throughout the year, there is a definite need for efficient management
of the programs. This unending job
is carried out by the coaches, Mr.
Ed Scheck, chairman of the intra-
murals, Leo Kilfoy, Roy Owen and
Bob Duax. They are to be commended for their good work.
FOOTBALL Occupies Fall Months
I. M. footballers in action.
By beating the previously undefeated Pygmies 38-7, the Huns (Back: Young, Demling, Finnigan, Szfranski, Thomas; Front: Vlazny, Rea,
Monoghan, Pecoraro, Langan) won their second straight I. M. football championship.
