One-two punch of the Bees
Records fell like raindrops around St. Ambrose College during
the 1952-53 cage season and Big Bob Cannady and Captain Tom
Seekamp were two men who contributed heavily to the cause.
Cannady was the team's leading scorer with 591 points and Seekamp accounted for 523 over the 26-game span. Cannady broke
Bob Smiley's single game mark by scoring 38 points twice. His
record-breaking effort came in the 106-75 pasting of Dubuque U.,
which was another school record for team points in a single game.
Seekamp broke the school record for points scored in a career,
totaling 1,153 points for three year's work.
Bob Duax's 1952-53 Bee cagers got off on the wrong foot losing
their first three contests of the season. Quincy stopped the Davenport five, 97-83, despite the 22 point effort of Jim Fay. St.
Norberts proved to be unkind hosts, knocking the Saints off, 72-68,
in West DePere, Wis., as both teams were able to connect about
