Description
Mon. 22—Busy days for hook worm, gloom bug, and spring fever.
Tues. 23—Wrestling match between Johnny Corkscrew and Shorty O'Neil
for the heavy weight championship of The Fitzpatrick Barracks.
Wed. 24—The Glee Club sang in St. Joseph's Hall tonight. We used the
verb "sang" but we have our own opinion.
Thur. 25—Fr. Shanahan was in charge of the Philosophy class today.
Fri. 26—Free day on Mr. Bashe.
Sat. 27—General permission till 4:45.
Mon. 29—The Glee Club, Choir and Orchestra went to see "Turn to the
Right," those who were less talented were contented to go to bed.
Tues. 30—Doc. Moore opened the debate in Political Economy class: "Honorable judges, fellow members, ladies and gentlemen." Mr. Wallace
arose and suggested that the ladies be removed from the room before
Doc proceeded. The class roll was called and none were found present.
MAY
Wed. 1—Final drive to finish Ambrosian work. Louie R. is crazy about
the latest song hit, "Ro-ol Your Eyes fo' Your Baby."
Fri. 3—Creamed haunches of angle worm for supper.
Sat. 4—Prof. Bashe leaves for the army. The Blue and White machine
worked hard on the Dubuque nine and beat them 10-8.
Sun. 5—Our latest arrival is a papoose.
Mon. 6—Extracts from Bob Feeney's latest write-up in The Democrat:
"The new service flag will probably contain 200 names when the 'rooster'
is filled."
Tues. 7—The team leaves for Chicago and other places. Judge received
the new hat from Doc. McCormack, an 1847 model (the year Roger Bros,
began to make silverware.)
Thur. 8—Lots of rehearsals for the play; girlish figures are in great
demand.
Sat. 10—Henry ditched his cigarette when he saw the first prefect coming—another case of camel-flage.
Mon. 11—Henry placed special emphasis on his statement that malt liquors
should not be taxed. Mon Dieu!!
