Griffith, O'Connor, Simmons, Devlin, Volz,
Cullinan, Wallace, Hellweg, Kinnavey, Flanagan, Garrity,
Rohret, Moore, Jaeger, Cone, Gerwe.
Among the many organizations at St. Ambrose, the Manning Club
stands foremost. Composed of Junior and Senior Collegiate students, the
society assumes an elevated air and endeavors to point out the why, the
wherefore, and the what-should-be of everyday problems, social, economic,
and political.
The primary purpose of the Manning Club is to reproduce for St. Ambrose the accomplishments of the Commercial and Rotary Clubs of the city.
Lingual fluency and acquaintance with current topics receive due consideration. Realizing that talent must be accompanied by determination and exercise of faculties, this society frankly invites the spirit of publicity and
progressiveness into its meetings. There, with logic and truth as guides,
it subjects all matter to a just and rigorous criticism.
That the Manning Club has effected its purpose is evident from the
spirit of good-will, fellowship, and loyalty towards both Country and Alma
Mater which every member possesses and manifests.
