Grecian shores for America, where he joined the Army to help put down
barbarity in Mexico. He remained attached to his Company and has now

1916
'16. William Schmidt, Collegiate, has spent the past two years in Ken-
rick Seminary, St. Louis, Mo.
'16. Of the Senior Academic Class of 1916, the following men are pursuing the College Course: Anthony Jaeger, Robert Cullman, James Gar-
rity, Aloysius Cone, John Gerwe, Raymond Kinnavey and Louis Rohret.
'16. Joseph Meersman and Charles King are taking civil engineering at
the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana.
'16. Francis Linnekamp and Leo Vogel are engaged in farming at their
respective homes near Sigourney, Iowa.
'16. Peter DeRycke of Hartwick, Iowa, spent a few days with his
former class-mates at the College during the winter.
'16. We note with pleasure that August Van Wonterghem, who is attending the Notre Dame Law School, has won a place on the University
Track Team. He stopped off at the Tri-Cities on a Western tour in April.
'16. Among the former students who are pursuing higher studies at
the State University are Marcus Healy, Pre-medics; James Leonard, Dentistry; and Richard Lee, Liberal Arts.
'16. Simon Holtz, Senior Academic. Ames Veterinary College, 1917, is
at the McKillip's Veterinary School, Chicago. Lee Doyle of the Chicago
University School of Dentistry, says that the good old lessons learned at St.
Ambrose apply every day in the professional training.
'16. Donald Campbell, formerly with the present Senior Academic
class, is now "sailing the high seas, under the Red, White and Blue." He
spent his Christmas furlough in Davenport. He has the deepest enthusiasm
for the naval life.
'16. Harry Shields, an Academic Graduate and Business Manager of
the Ambrosian in 1916, has joined the Aviation Corps.
1915
'15. The B. A. Students of 1915, Lawrence Murphy, Edward Neuzil,
Chas. Van Waus and James Walsh, are in their third year work at Kenrick
Seminary. John Michalek of the Class of 1913, is also at Kenrick.
'15. Edward O'Connor, George Voltz and Rigobert Hellweg of the
Senior Academic Class, receive their College Degrees this June.
'15. Thomas Cunningham of the Academic Class, finishes Dentistry at
the Iowa University this year. Five members of this class are with the
Colors: Thos. Wolfe, Engineer Corps, Camp Custer, Battle Creek, Michigan; John Wheelan, Lieutenant, Aeronautic Training School near Omaha,
Nebraska; Robert Lenaghan, Medical Reserve Corps; Raymond McGrath,
Camp Cody, and Edward Wehr, Camp Cody.
