St. Ambrose 32 — St. Norbert 21
Saturday, October 8, West Depere, Wis.:
A tough St. Norbert squad was the fourth
victim for the Mullins-coached eleven and the
second straight victim of Bees in Midlands competition. The final score was 32-21.
The spirited inter-play of two big, rough
lines was the main feature of a sullen first half.
Lee Matera set up the first Ambrose counter,
dodging around end for 61 yards. Another
tally by the Bees gave them a first half advantage of 13-7.
St. Norbert speared the lead 14-13 shortly
after the second half opened. Then Mullins
turned loose tiny Grennan, Doody and Mooney
on the ground and called on Matera and Nixon
for air work. Matera winged his target six
out of ten tries for 127 yards. Score by quarters:
