1968 Yearbook
Description
FRONT ROW: Ed Lillis, Larry Gusman, Tim O'Rourke and Kevin Murphy. BACK ROW: Larry Clark,
Henry Timbrook, Rick Frye, Ed Stoessel and Coach Owen
One of the most underpublicized sports
at St. Ambrose is cross-country. This sport
combines not only endurance but determination in achieving competitive
stature. Although the team posted a 1—4
record, the team was rated 25th in the
nation and it won 2nd place in the NAIA
district meet. Coach Roy Owen has en
listed the services of some of the most
outstanding underclass runners in the
area to build a highly competitive team.
Although hampered by costly injuries,
this year's team earned the respect of
all competitors, and only success lay
in the future for the cross-country team.
