Description

EDWARD J. LILLIS
LONG GROVE, IA. ENGLISH
Few students can be well-rounded in the whole spectrum of
college life, but when an individual shows enthusiasm for this
type of involvement, he is an example for all. Ed Lillis has been
a positive factor in the athletic program at St. Ambrose College,
particularly in Track and Cross-country. An English major of high
standing, he has functioned in various positions of student government and has been affiliated with the Ambrosian News. His great
enthusiasm causes him to be conspicuously attendant at many
college functions, whether they be social or academic.
JAMES F. PARIZEK
IOWA CITY, IA. PHILOSOPHY
Although the Seminarians are the most secluded members of
the college, their intellectual diligence and perseverance deserves great praise. One outstanding member of the "Churchies"
has been Jim Parizek. Jim has proven that a high grade point is
one of the means to earn the respect of his fellow students. Indeed his intelligent attitudes have broadened the opinions held
by many as to the real nature of today's men of God.
JOHN M. UNDERWOOD
DIXON, ILL MATHEMATICS
The "Stick" has been the highlight for Coach Ed Scheck's successful Tennis team. John Underwood's ability in Varsity and Intramural sports have garnered a great deal of acclaim to this
gifted athlete. Yet, John's prowess on the athletic field is more
than matched by his mental prowess in the field of Mathematics.
DARRELL L. WARTA
TOPEKA, KANSAS POLITICAL SCIENCE
Another organizer and leader who always seemed to "find time"
for everything was Darrell Warta. Besides maintaining excellence
in scholarship, Darrell was the organizer of extra-curricular
functions, particularly remembered for his work in organizing
the New Christy Minstrels show in conjunctions with Jerry Howard.
His continued work in the Student Council as Vice-president made
the Council operate with practical information and his many
constructive suggestions. The gentleman with the kindly Kansas
drawl will not soon be forgotten on this campus.
