P.A.V.L.A., '62
PAVLA (Papal Volunteers for Latin America) is an organization which aims to erase the deficiency of economic and religious leadership in Latin America. On St. Ambrose campus it functions mainly to recruit
volunteers, educate the student body to the nature and extent of Latin American problems, and to raise
funds for missions. Considering its short history at St. Ambrose, PAVLA had evidenced a high potential
for Catholic action.
Delta Epsilon Sigma
This national scholastic honor society for students of Catholic colleges and universities was
founded in 1939. St. Ambrose Xi Chapter is one of the charter members. A faculty committee
selects seniors for membership in Delta Epsilon Sigma on the basis of no more than ten percent of those students who have a "B" average and who have actively participated in student
activities.
