1962 Yearbook
Description
Can't you tell them you were wrong... that you made a mistake... and you won't do it again? (Act I, scene I)
Did Mr. Cates ever make any reference to God? (Act II,
scene 2)
Inherit the Wind
Attorneys for the prosecution and defense
flank a man who
dared to teach evolution.
What about it, Cates? Want to call
the whole thing off? (Act I, scene 2)
Stellar performances by Tom Hogue and Dick Marriott, plus the superb directing of Mr. Wayne Loui, made
Inherit the Wind another worthwhile venture for Theatre
III... Mr. Marriott excelled markedly in portraying
Matthew Harrison Brady, William Jennings Bryan's counterpart. Dick brought across the righteous, forceful character of Brady. So powerful was his portrayal that the
audience could actually feel the pains of his defeat.
Tom Hogue as Mr. Drummond, the counterpart of
Clarence Darrow had complete control of his character!
Mr. Drummond became under his guidance the perfect
contrast to Mr. Brady, and more than an equal.
Reprinted From Ambrosian News, Feb. 23, 1962
Lest we forget! Veteran crew members
(seated) Dick Cutney, Bill Walsh, (top
row) Mike Nolan, lighting and set designer; Alice Moehlenhof, properties; and
Mel Carney.
