Band
The St. Ambrose College concert band is
composed of students, determined by audition, from both St. Ambrose and Marycrest
Colleges. In addition to offering recreational
activity and cultural stimulus to its members, the concert band provides advanced
training for members majoring in music.
The band rehearses three hours weekly. The
band gives an annual Campus Concert and
several concerts at high schools in the neighboring area. Each spring the band tours
states adjoining Iowa. In 1961 the band
made a guest appearance at the National
Catholic Music Educators Association convention in Milwaukee.
