Description

HOOGERWERF End LAPKA End
Rock Island, III., Oct. I 2—Displaying the
skill of a big time football team, St. Ambrose put on their smoothest performance
of the season against their ancient rivals,
Augustant, trouncing them decisively, 27
to 0. The Bees tallied two touchdowns in
each half and had a fifth score called back
due to a penalty after Loomis skirted 83
yards through the dazzled Vikings.
Although Ted Lapka, Roy Glendenning,
Stan Sosnouski, and John McDonnell made
the touchdowns, Al Haworth and Bill Leith-
ner played a sterling ball game.
Without the aid of the freshman stars,
the Bees ran wild all night, piling up 18
first downs which netted them 553 total
yards from scrimmage. The linemen
opened huge, holes and with the backs
running hard and cagey, St. Ambrose completely outmaneuvered Augie to take their
ixth straight win over Coach Almquist's
Bpresentatives.
