Description

Alumni Notes
John Collins, Henry Overberg, Joseph Code, Joseph Wagner, and Raymond Fitzpatrick, Collegiate '20, are pursuing their Theological studies at St. Mary's Seminary,
Baltimore, Maryland.
Aloysious Rempe of the same class has joined the Society of the Divine Word,
Techny, Ill. Every one wishes "Al" the greatest success in the life work which he has
chosen to take up. He has the distinction of being the first Alumnus of St. Ambrose
College to join that order.
Newman Flanagan, Paul Moore, and Aloysious Cone are studying for the priesthood at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore.
Francis Simmons, Coll. '19, is a student of Theology at Kenrick Seminary, Webster
Groves, Missouri.
Cletus Bailey, Arnold Hand, Jas. Butterfield, Joe Malone, Emmet Murphy, Leonard Evans, and Clarence Horty are taking courses at the University of Iowa.
Lyle Kelly, Acad. '19-20, of Monticello, Iowa, was captain and star tackle of the
Monticello High School during the past fall. Reports say that the team passed a
successful year under the leadership of Capt. Kelly.
Raymond Oberbroeckling, Acad. '19, was Captain and tackle of the Columbia
College football team the past fall. Although Columbia did not have such a successful
year it wasn't the fault of the "Big Boy".
Eugene "Red" McLain, Acad. '19, is now at St. Viators College, Bourbonnais, Ill.,
where he has just passed the most successful year in his athletic career. He was the
shining light in the backfield on the football team, the greatest little guard St. Viators
ever had in basket ball, captain and shortstop in baseball. "Red" certainly is a wonder
in Athletics. We also must add that St. Ambrose has had a handful of her Alumni
captains on respective teams throughout the country.
Joseph McGuire is finishing his High School career at St. Patrick's, Iowa City.
Art Mallon is holding down his position at the Davenport Post Office.
"Red" Kelly, Acad. '20, was employed at Allen's Cafe, DeWitt, Iowa, when last
heard from.
Yvo Floerchinger, Acad. '19, is applying his knowledge at home in Oxford, Iowa.
