Description

Midget Baseball
Not satisfied with taking the count of everything that
came their way in football and basket ball, the Midgets
are now in the field to complete their year's work by annexing the few honors still remaining for them in baseball. The Midgets were the first of the three teams at
the college to begin spring practice, and although still
early in the season, daily improvement in their work is
quite noticeable. They will meet all of the nines of the
various Tri-City schools and they hope to vanquish them
immediately, as they have done in the past.
Among the most promising candidates at the present
time are the Powers brothers, George Till and Francis
Fennell. Because of the fact that the Midget athletes
remain small enough to be eligible for one or two years
only, their teams are constructed of almost entirely green
material annually. This year is no exception. The few
veterans left from last year form a nucleus for the new
squad and although it is now too early in the season to
predict much, Fr. Adrian is again sure of an unbeatable
team.
The Midgets of '19 and '20 went through the season
undefeated and this year's team are out to equal them.
If the baseball nine progresses as rapidly as the basket ball
five a better and more famous Midget crew than ever
will be on the diamond this spring.
