CASEY
Ah Casey, the Livery Man! He got his start driving cabs, when one day the inspiration came to him that he should strive to be somebody or something. So he hopped off his little cab, went to his small attic room, packed his Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes
in a cracker box, and started for college. He, by some chance or other, got into the Class of '13, and, they, thinking that they were doing him a good turn, soon relieved his tongue of his "Cabby" slang by giving him a mouthful of soap water. And now as he leaves us in June, our best wishes go with him, and we hope that he will prosper, so as one day to be proprietor instead of "just Cabby."
WHITTAKER
Once upon a time a noted educator and philanthropist, making a scientific tour, discovered in the freshly mown fields, surrounding Washington, a specimen of humanity which appealed to him. Offering beads, glass-bells and trinkets, he finally succeeded in getting "the critter" to converse with him, and, with difficulty, he finally succeeded in impressing upon this child of the prairie the necessity of having his mind developed—a hopeless task. Soon the youth was crated and shipped to the Fount of Learning. Our athlete engaged in every form of sports, and made the Midgets in tennis. In basketball he was a complete success, being on the "big team." His class work was encouraging, and we feel confident that one day Martin Whittaker will become one of the leading stock raisers of Washington, a credit to the Senior Commercial Class of '13.
DEHNER
It is altogether fitting to give our friend, Andy Dehner, the last place in our lineup. We almost forgot to put him in here, but he woke up just in time to call our attention to the fact, and then went back to sleep. Andy's sonambulism will fit him admirably for his future occupation as a porter on the Pullman Sleepers of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, or as a "Newsie," selling the "Black Hawk," on the Muscatine Southern
Railway! Good luck and pleasant dreams be yours, Andy!

9th. School opens; new students classified.
10th. Classes begin; work for the First Semester is outlined.
Old boys arrive with tales of their summer conquests and numerous good
resolutions.
"Silver Anvil Chorus" sings: "'Twas not like this at home!"
