The St. Ambrose Alumni Association
IN APRIL, 1914, several of the alumni of St. Ambrose assembled
and took the first steps in the organization of an Alumni Association, a movement which for a long time had been the hope
and desire of the Faculty and Students of the College. It was
decided that a meeting of all the alumni should take place on
June 17th at the College, and that this meeting should take
the form of a banquet. Rev. C. J. Donohoe was requested to
send to each alumnus a letter telling of the movement that had been started
and of the arrangements that had been made.
About two hundred of the alumni responded to this call, and nearly all of
these appeared at the banquet. Men of all walks of life were present, among
whom were some of the most prominent professional and business men of the
