Rigobert Hellweg, Raymond McGrath, James Morrow, George Volz, Edward
Wehr, Thomas Wolfe and Edward O'Connor, all graduates of the Academic Class
of '14, are now taking up work in the Collegiate Department of the College.
John Whelan, '15, is now pursuing the medical course at Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska.
Robert Lenaghan, '15, has entered a course of medicine at the St. Louis
University.
James Welsh, Charles Van Waus, Lawrence Murphy and Edward Neuzil, all
graduates of the Collegiate 1915, are attending Kenrick Seminary, St. Louis.
Thomas Cunningham, '15, is a student of Dentistry at the Iowa University.
Arthur Toher, '12, surprised his friends by joining the Alexian Brothers in
Chicago. Mr. Toher will be remembered for his remarkable ingenuity in engineering, the discomfiture of the fifth year class on the occasion of the 1911 Commencement exercises.
Clement Kerrigan, Edgar Hill and Merle Skelley are employed at various
occupations in Davenport, and Peter Hahn is working at his home in Keota, Iowa.
Our Alumni will celebrate the third anniversary of their organization on
August 2, in connection with the National K. C. Convention. Invitations with
details of the program will be sent in due time. At this gathering, we hope, some
steps toward more frequent reunions will be taken.
Let us have a Homecoming Day, some time in the fall, preferably the day of
a big football game, say with our ancient rivals, Dubuque. Let our members
gather along the sidelines and renew their youth. Let them set free the almost
forgotten class yells that tremble upon their lips.
Let there be a "feed," not a banquet, in the refectory, where the first annual
banquet of the association was held. Let the varsity enjoy, at this "feed," the
hospitality of the men who wore the Blue and White before them.
Finally, let there be all these things and more, except formality.
