Foreword.
In the hope that its readers may find on its pages
something to interest and to please, we, the Classes
of 1914, present the AMBROSIAN with its story of
life and progress at St. Ambrose College.
Our desire has been to set forth the work of our
various College organizations, and in addition to
record the different events, major and minor, humorous and otherwise, of the past year.
The task has not been without its difficulties.
We have, however, found joy in the effort to arrange
in orderly form for the benefit of Alma Mater, and
for the pleasure of her friends an account of the happenings of the College year. We have not done all
that we should like to be able to do. But we have
done the best that circumstances would permit. Our
work, such as it is, is before you. As you turn its
pages we trust you will find new and refreshing proof
of the growing greatness of our Alma Mater.
