Description
Junior Baseball
THE prospects this year for a winning Junior team are exceptionally bright.
Most of last year's squad have returned, and have been successful in retaining their berths over candidates seeking their positions. The greatest loss
suffered by the team is "Mac" McGivern, the star pitcher for several years,
who has deserted the Junior ranks to take his regular turn in the box for the
Varsity. The rest of last year's veteran infield remains intact. Several holes in the
gardens have to be filled; but many promising candidates are out, so no worry is manifested on that score.
An unusually hard schedule has been arranged but with "Packey" Phelan again
leading the team from his old position of back-stop, it is expected that the team will
come through with flying colors.
