Charles Van Waus, James Welsh, Lawrence Murphy and Edward
Neuzil, all Collegiate Graduates of '15, are attending Kenrick Seminary at
St. Louis.
Louis F. Mueller, Academic, '02, is making a reputation for himself in
the literary world. He has contributed several articles of unusual value and
interest to the America and the Catholic Mind.
Lawrence Doyle, Commercial, '15, is now employed as a reporter for
the Daily Times, published in Davenport.
Fr. James O'Neil, a former member of the faculty was recently transferred to the parish at Brooklyn, Iowa.
William Kleffman, Academic, '14, has been attending St. Mary's Seminary of Baltimore, Maryland, for the past two years.
Rev. Cletus Portel, Collegiate, '13, was ordained to the priesthood at
Des Moines, last August. Father Portel is now attending the Catholic
University at Washington, D. C.
Ambrose Burke, Academic, '13, is now engaged in the study of
Theology at St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland.
Rev. Hugh Swift, Collegiate, '07, has charge of the Paulist parish at
Winchester, Tennessee.
Rev. Bernard F. Meyers who completed his Collegiate course in 1913,
was ordained to the priesthood on December 2, 1916, at the Foreign Mission
Seminary of America at Maryknoll, New York. At present Father Meyers
is continuing his studies at Maryknoll, but he probably will be assigned to
some charge in the Chinese mission field within the present year. When
Father Meyers visited his Alma Mater last January we found that the
energy, zeal and buoyancy that characterized him as a student are still with
him to make more fruitful his labors in the Field Afar. Our prayers and
good wishes go with you, Reverend Father.
William Swift, Academic, '10, is now engaged in the lumber business
at Greenfield, Iowa.
E. J. Dougherty, the new president of the Alumni Association, is one
of the enterprising young business men of Davenport. Two years ago he
