Description

MUSIC AND DRAMA
St. Ambrose College provides an opportunity for
those students who are interested in the fields of
music and drama to gain practical experience outside the classroom.
The Drama Department presents three plays annually in which the students are responsible for the
work both on and off the stage. The notable presentations of the past year were Romanoff and Juliet, The Playboy of the Western World, and A View
from the Bridge.
The band and chorus, in addition to presenting
college concerts, make a tour during the semester in
which they present concerts to schools in the surrounding areas. The combined chorus of St. Ambrose and Marycrest presented Prologue in the Heavens from Boito's Mephistophles, finale from Faust by
Gounod and Serenade de Mephistopheles from Damnation of Faust by Berlioz with the Tri City Symphony in their March concert. The post Easter performances of Music Man continued the successful
offerings of Kismet, Brigadoon, Carousel, and Oklahoma.
