Class of 1966 - Ready to Assume Campus Leadership
Junior year brings a great movement of students "off-campus", for many reasons. John
Parat and Michael Rock enjoy some of the "unintended pleasures" of this new existence.
(continued from page 74)
was noticed. "Everybody" was living
off-campus. Life had changed for
many Juniors, through their choice
of living in the community around
the College, rather than in the dorms.
This made for greater freedom in
social life and more challenge in
studying for those who had spent
two years on-campus.
The Juniors continued their participation in school events throughout the year. They could be seen at
dances, games, club events, and
"private parties". They took part in
plays, sports and Homecoming. Class
rings were purchased. With the first
Sunday in Advent many helped in
the chapel with the change in the
new liturgy. Tests were taken and
holidays enjoyed. Retreat offered a
break in the routine in which the
spiritual could be considered. Spring
came, Easter, and finals. The Juniors
looked forward to their last long
vacation. Senior year would soon be
a reality and then, for most, the
"working world".
