The usual peace and quiet of our
campus was interrupted one sunny
morning when an unusual object
was seen proceeding west down
Locust Street, in front of the College.
What was it? It was a house, and not
a little one. Immediately, as usual,
our students came to the rescue, in
the form of "sidewalk-superintendents". The workers performing the
feat were presented with a problem
due to the size of the house, which
had to be moved down a considerable length of Locust Street. Many
obstacles appeared in its way. Telephone wires had to be cut, and street
and traffic lights had to be moved.
Complaints were heard because
many limbs had to be removed from
the "mighty oaks". Many drivers
thought the "stunt" ridiculous, as
traffic was blocked for some time.
By evening, however, order was restored and the house had a new location. The confusion had ceased in
front of St. Ambrose.
